Amazon.com Complaint - Book sale is a lie - 80% off book sale
I placed a order with amazon on 9-27-07 and got tons of book at 80% off. I ordered about 31 books for only $43.00. Two days later they send me a email telling me that they had cancel my whole order because they were got of stock. I went back on their site and looked up every book on my order and even placed them in my shopping cart and yes they were in stock some even said more are on the way. How can u cancel a whole order because items are out of stock and it states more are coming. Even asked me to check out and pay. Of course I did not do that because why should I pay $165 for the same order that I just placed two days ago. I think they did not want to honor their order and just made excuses. They sent me a $10 gift cert. to say they are sorry. It should be a replacement for the so called out of stock items. $10 do not cover a $165 dollar order. They should say will ship when items come in again. I think they are losing money because all the books I order are at regular price right now.
Response to my review: I don't think $10 is enough because how can that replace all the books I promised my kids. How can that replace the three hours I spend looking at over 1600 book just in the kids book section. How can I reorder those books at a cost of $165 with $10. If they are a good company then why is it that two days later I can order those same books that are suppose to be out of stock. I'm mad because instead of telling me the truth that they no longer offer those prices anymore and had not had time update their website instead of telling me they are out of stock. A company is suppose to honor their mistakes. One time I heard south west or some other airline had flights for $20 both ways , of course it was a mistake but they bite their tongues and fixed the website and honor those orders that were already replaced. What is a few $$$ to multimillion companies when bad reviews and losing customer can cost them even more.
