Days Inn Complaint - Don't Stay at Days Inns - Bad Hotel Stay
Bad Hotel Stay - Complaint
ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI -- We stayed at Days Inn St. Louis on Lindbergh; a nightmare of errors. We got a key to a room that was already occupied. New room wasn't cleaned we had to request it. We were assigned a room next to the fitness center (open 24-hrs day & noisy), pool was much too cold to swim. Was promised heat would be turned up in pool on Friday. Four days later it was still too cold to swim. Room flooded with overflowing toilet. They put mattress pads on the floor so we wouldn't have to walk on soggy wet carpet. It was very difficult for us to move a wheelchair over piles of mattress pads. Upon checkout I started to explain (again) the difficulties we had, but I was told we would get no further discount because we already had a senior discount.
This is how they treat seniors? No response to my letter from corporate. After three complaints I got a $20 off voucher for another Days Inn stay. HA - NO WAY! I would not trust ANY Days Inn again.

Sorry to say but Days Inn's have slipped to one of the worst chains around these days. I think it's because Days Inn has let the Indian Patel families take over most of their properties. They are a dirty bunch and put nothing into their properties just yank all the cash they can out of them.

superbowl, if by "has let the Indian Patel take over most their properties" you mean that people with the last name of Patel have purchased many Days Inn properties then you'd be right. You do realize that Patel is one the most frequent surnames on the planet earth and not all the Days Inn Patels are related to each other much like not everybody with the last name of Jones is related. What in the world does being 'Indian' have to do with anything other than trying to fan a flame of prejudice. I'm speechless.

Stay speechless. I worked as a supplier to the hospitality industry for many years. In the 1970's Patel's started showing up in the USA buying up run down hotel/motel properties. They ran them further into the ground and took every dime they could out of them. They were chronic late pays on their bills, as soon as one supplier cut them off they would jump to the next. Their health and cleanliness standards were way below what American's were used to. As soon as they got $10,000 together they would send for another family member to live and work at the property.
If you would bother to do some homework rather than attacking all of my posts you would find everything I am saying to be fact. The Patel name is common in India which is why there are so many of them running dirty run down properties today. Do some homework and stop stalking my posts. You must have better things to do with your time?

superbowl - Face it you have a chip on your shoulder towards people descendant from India. You're only problem with the so-called Patel syndicate is that they are Indian which in your own words equates to 'a dirty bunch'. Narrow minded ignorant racism - plain and simple. “Dirtiest place ever stayed at in my 38 years of travel... very unsafe hotel and management did nothing to fix situation... they haven't even returned my 5 phone calls I've left for the owner MR. Patel very unprofessional. traveled with 5 other families and they all left Friday night with the loss of paying for one nights stay. I'm not a wealthy person and couldn't afford losing a nights fee or the time to try to find another hotel in the area at 7:30 in the evening very disgusted with the hotel. Trip was very unpleasant.”

Cool, you two know how to google,copy and paste but interestingly enough no relevance to my point. Not all the Days Inn proprietors with the last name of Patel are related and the fact they are descendant from India has no relevance to the condition of the hotels.

Your right Stew, there are thousands of Patel's running dumpy hotels and motels a lot of them being Day's Inn. Your 100% correct, they are not all related. In fact no one said they were so what's your point? Patel "families" are running these filthy establishments. And yes the Patel name is from India, we have known that for 40 years, so what's your point? The issue is a large number of hotel/motels are run by Indian's with the surname Patel and a large block of these properties are dumps. Now stay on the subject.

1. Patel's own a large number of run down properties.
2. They do not pay their bills very well.
3. Patel's hail for the most part from India.
4. Patel's have been taking over low end properties since the 1970's.
Does that sound raciest? I think not. I have some very good friends from India and hold no animosity towards any race, religion or creed. I attend many inter faith services every year, how many have you been to lately?

Super, Cooter is the guy from the Dukes of Hazard, which is in Norman, OK. That is where Stew first encountered Bigfoot and they became good and smelly friends. It's just a Stew thing and I wouldn't take it so personally you know Stew hasn't got laid since Sue dumped him for a truck driver, he's just frustrated.

I wonder if these "Patels" return home to India and complain about how they stayed at some other hotel chain beside Days Inn and were disgusted by how much cleaner they were. Are they as prejudice demanding to know if its American owned?

As a matter of fact, the Days Inn in St. Louis (Lindbergh) used to be run by Indians. Several rooms were filled with relatives who lived there. I never saw them working; assume they just lived there for free because they were related to the owners. Days Inns now have a lousy reputation, and the corporate office doesn't care one bit.
