Complaint
Review by Ann Frank on 2007-10-04
I often visit AOL chat rooms when a topic captures my interest. I have found that AOL hosts are opinionated and biased to that opinion. One such topic of conversation was the NFL football star, Michael Vick and the Dogs. The host allowed racial slurs and somehow deemed me "Ann Frank." I did not take this as an insult and continued to exchange points of view, but things I did find objectionable were:
1.) some of my comments were not allowed to be viewed 2.) racial slurs were allowed to be viewed
AOL often allows debates in chat rooms on the incumbent, President Bush, knowing that many American's are dissatisfied with this man's actions or inactions. These chats quickly become shouting matches: the Democrats against the Republicans. It's an ugly sight. The racial slurs and hatred is so thick it can be felt to the bone.
BUT MY GREATEST CONCERN IS MY CHECKING ACCOUNT
2.) my pricing plan changed from $9.95 unlimited access for dial-up connection monthly to $109.95 per month. I was charged this price in June, July, August, and September
3.) Also, I was charged for fast access $34.00 in May plus the $9.95 per month
4.) previously, I had to change my screen name because I was not allowed access to any of the top news, it was restricted to me. There was no one I could contact to correct it, believe me I tried!
5.) Just recently I visited a site about unions and my footprints were cleared from my computer. No one at my home has access to my computer.
These type of actions cause me to wonder...What is becoming of America, freedom of speech, and privacy?
