Belks at Greenwood, SC Complaint - Was not waited on - Clinique

Review by nuisance on 2007-10-04
GREENWOOD, SOUTH CAROLINA -- I had a coupon which I received in the mail to receive a 2-step skin care consultation and free- 3-step skin care system - I went there at 11:00 this morning (60 miles round trip - and was told that I had to make an appointment - I told her my card said "no appointment necessary" - she said - well you do - you can come back today at 3:00 or 4:00 - or come another day. I told her I was not going to go back.

That is false advertising ....... I am not happy!

You drove 30 miles one way for a skin care consultation? Consult with a licensed Dermatologist next time...not these punk ass kids who work for these companies.

Nothing is truly free and I'm sure the "3 step skin care system" was for samples that would last you a couple of days. Sounds like you were dealing with Clinique and their samples are tiny. The whole purpose of the coupon was to get you in the store to sell you cosmetics and I can't believe you drove 60 miles for this. It's not false advertising - - next time call before you drive that far no matter what the coupon says.

It is false advertising if the card said no appointment necessary. Did you ask to speak to the manager about this? I probably would have called ahead before driving 60 miles round trip, but I understand if the card said it wasn't necessary, why you didn't.

Just becuase it says no appointment neccessary, does not mean that they will do the consultation when you walk in. I am sure it means that they will fit you in when they can. In this case, between 3 and 4

Unless it was very busy there was no reason not to take her. I know at Origins they tell you on your birthday you get a free facial. I had the card, it did not say by appointment only. When I went in to have the facial done I was told they only do them on certain days (to bad the card did not say that). I made the appointment, on the day of the appointment I got a call to reschedule. I did that and then the day before the next appointment got the same call. Seems there is only one girl doing facials. Needless to say I won't use Origins again.
