Bass Tracker Boats Complaint - Unsafe product - Nitro Boats

Review by 0427 on 2007-10-04
BEAUMONT, TEXAS -- In June 07, I purchased a new Nitro Bass Boat with a 135 hp Merc engine. Since I bought the boat it has been in the shop over 8 weeks. Between 3000 to 3500 rpms the boat leans excessively to the left and if you release the steering wheel the boat turns violently to the right to the point of throwing you out of the boat. After several conservations with the mechanic, service manager and factory tech I was told that I was not driving the boat properly. I have owned boats since the 60's and have never had someone tell me this.

The boat is a lemon and defective and I am in the process of filing a lawsuit because it is unsafe. The boat was purchased from Travis Boat Center in Beaumont, TX.

How can you not be driving the boat right? How do they expect you to get under control a boat that pitches under throttle and pulls on its own.

Sounds like you have an outboard. Try trimming your motor up when you get on plane. Hit the little button on the throttle that makes the motor tilt up. That will release the down pressure of the boat in the water and it will sit up flat on plane.
