Playa Del Sol Complaint - Playa Del Sol & Econdomania.com used Arda in fraudulent deal
We were invited to a timeshare presentation at Playa Del Sol in Puerto Vallarta February 25th 2003. We told the salesman that we did not have the money to buy this timeshare so he told us that he could take our timeshare in exchange and could arange a deal with econdomania.com to rent a two bedroom suite to cover the difference of $8,500 + $495 closing fee. In order to convince us of their good standing they pointed out the Arda logo on econdomania.com's advertisement. (According to David Evans from Arda they are fraudulently using their logo since they haven't paid their dues)He then called Vincent Kahn at econdomania.com and fictionaly made a deal to rent the suite and then handed me the phone so that Vincent could confirm the deal. He also confirmed the deal by e-mail and it reads "This is to confirm that we have rented your three (3) two bedroom for next month March. The rental price is $2,600 per week. The fourth week will be used and paid for in August. Thanks, Vincent econdomania.com". On these promises by the sales department combined with the confirmation by econdomania.com we signed a contract with Playa Del Sol for a one bedroom losk-off unit. Since we never got any money from this deal we contacted George Triggs at Playa Del Sol and explained the fraud. He told us that the only thing that he could do was to return our timeshare but we would have to e-mail him a letter saying we were satisfied with the deal. Feeling we had no choice we did. Since this fraud originated at the sales department at Playa Del Sol we feal that this contract should be voided and our money returned.
