Federal Express Corporation Complaint - How can FedEx Ground Screw You - FedEx Ground

Complaint
Review by peeteee on 2007-10-05
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA -- I have been tracking my package delivery on the Web. As today was the estimated delivery date, I stayed home to accept and sign for the package. Later on in the afternoon, while I was still anxiously awaiting delivery, I checked the website--at 12:50 PM it showed "delivery exception", "customer not available." I have been home all day; no one rang my buzzer. I checked my front entrance and no door tag was left. I called FedEx to verify they had the correct address; the address they had was error-free. Though it was only about 5:15 PM when I called, I was told the package could not be held for pick-up the next day. I will not be home tomorrow (Saturday) and, as FedEx Ground does not deliver on Sundays or Mondays, I will have to wait at least an additional four days for my package.

I have had no issues with UPS, USPS or DHL. In the future I will not order products from merchants who use FedEx Ground.

Getting rid of a landline does present some disadvantages.

I think your experience proves that all the carriers have problems at one time or another--unfortunately. I've had similar problems with DHL and the USPS (in CT only). We're stuck with the USPS for mail, but I have had good success with UPS and FedEx. It is very frustrating when it happens and I hope you get your package soon. Thanks for the post.

It's frustrating to want something and not have it show up, but unless the package was shipped with guaranteed service (like, Next Day) the term "estimated delivery date" is what counts. They never guaranteed that it would be delivered that particular day.

Yup, same problem here. My DELL computer has been in a Fedex station 45 minutes away form its final destination for 2 f***in' days!!! WTF???

FedEx Ground and Home Delivery are 5-7 day delivery services. The tracking option is a major problem in the sense that it causes customers to demand expedited delivery without understanding the logistics involved with handling 12,000+ packages a day. If it takes longer than a week, start complaining. Otherwise pay for Express.
