New York Helmsley Complaint - Hotel accommodations
As a frequent traveler, I feel obligated to share with you my experience.
On March 3rd and 4th I stayed at The New York Helmsley Hotel while visiting New York. I decided to stay at this hotel due to the high reputation of the Helmsley name. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed in my visit. I frequently travel and have stayed at similarly priced accommodations in London, New York and Washington, D.C. I stayed in room 805 of the hotel. There were stains on the carpet. There was masking tape on the corner of the wall, apparently to hide or fix some defect. The plastic shower curtain had stains on it that appeared to be blood. Overall the appearance of the room and hallway leading to the room were quite shabby. I was actually a bit embarrassed when a friend of mine came over to pick me up for dinner.
To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:
I would like to be reimbursed for this stay. I would consider a complimentary visit instead of monetary reimbursement if I could be assured that the accommodations would at least be clean and well kept. I regret having to write this letter; however, I feel that you too probably have an interest in maintaing the reputation that has been so painstakingly acquired.
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident within the next two weeks.
