Ashley Furniture Complaint - Consumer Service and Quality of Product
CONROE, TEXAS -- I purchased over $4000.00 of furniture on July 7th, 2007 including a dining set that had to be ordered from their catalog (you cannot take anything from the store, you must have it delivered. We were informed that it would be 6 to 8 weeks for delivery on the dining set. When part of our order was delivered, we did not receive the bed frame we were promised and one other piece of furniture showed signs that it had been broken, and glued back together again. As of October 9th, 2007, after many calls and promises, we were simply informed that the dining set would not be even manufactured until late October, and no delivery date could be provided. So here we are, four months later, with a broken demi-loom cabinet, mattress's sitting on the floor, and no dining room set to eat or entertain with.
Furthermore, an expensive leather living room set purchased about 1 year ago from Gallery Furniture, made by Ashley Furniture, has continued to cause us problems with shoddy construction in the arms, (turns out there are cardboard supports inside), and leather seat cushions that the leather color ??? wears off continually. In addition, Ashley claims that a leather protective conditioner that Gallery Furniture touts and sells with their purchases, voids Ashley's warranty on this furniture.
Please beware of any promises made by this company. Their prices may be attractive, but their quality and customer service are terrible!
