Juniper Bank Complaint - Credit Limit/Interest Rate
HUNTINGTON, NEW YORK -- I've had my Juniper Bank Master Card for just over two years now. I am surprised at how many issues people have had with fees, customer service, etc. I have always been able to speak to somebody at customer service when I need to, I have never been charged superfluous fees, or had trouble with my payments posting immediately and then having the funds available to me. My issues are with the interest rates and my line of credit. Initially I received 0% APR for six months. This went well and at the end of the six months, the APR went up, it has continued to do so over the past year and a half until finally settling at 21.9%, my next highest interest rate on a card is 12.9%. In addition to that, I have not received an increase in my credit limit in over a year. I received several during the first year I had the card and have not since then. I use it regularly, never have missed a payment. Sometimes I carry a balance, but most months I pay it off. I have tried to run it up and then pay it off, nothing works. I even went so far as to call and request a limit, seeing as I'm an excellent customer and have stayed with them so long. I was told I would I wasn't eligible and would receive a letter explaining why.
All I received was a form letter telling me I couldn't request a credit limit increase. I find this to be obnoxious since I have good credit, am not in debt, and pay them regularly. The only reason I keep the card is b/c I hate switching all the time and they are currently my oldest account.
