Ashley Furniture Complaint - Poor workmanship
REGINA, SASK, CANADA -- I had purchased a sofa, chair, ottoman, and a cube storage unit on July 9, 2007. It took 30 days to receive it. Everything looked fine when it was delivered. Upon further inspection, the ottoman was poorly assembled. The ottoman's top came off for storage. The spacers that would hold the lid in place were just randomly placed on the lid. The placement wasn't even, that didn't cause the problem. The spacers were sitting on the ottoman not in the open space inside the ottoman. It then took almost a month for the service man to come out and look at the ottoman. He suggested that it be replaced. It then took another 30 days for the next one to arrive. I had to miss work for the delivery, only to find this next, and newer one was even more damaged than the last one. The spacers that were put wrong in the first one now had one busted wright off. Wood was coming out off the ottoman. So they tell me they will have to order yet another one. It will be another 30 days. And was treated rudely on the phone to boot. It is now October 13th and received a call saying that the new one they had ordered me is also broken. I now will have to wait another 30 day to find out that this may too be broken.
I have no idea how to deal with this situation. I made a point of paying off the furniture with in the first month, so they can now do what ever they want, with no regard for the customers.
