Umax Complaint - UMAX does not honor its rebates

Review by WC on 2007-10-16
CALIFORNIA -- Years ago, I had sent UMAX a completed rebate form + other required documents, and UMAX never sent me the rebate. After corresponding with their customer service numerous times over months, UMAX promised to send me the rebate. Then, all went silent. Further inquiries yielded naught.

I was cheated of my rebate.

Any company that does not honor its promises cheats its business partners and customers. Such companies cannot be trusted, and their products and services avoided like the plague.

Two reviews claiming the same problem against two different companies leads me to believe that you did not submit the proper documentation to receive your rebates.

years ago?

'Years ago' (nine, to be exact), I too sent UMAX all the required documentation for a rebate. If I remember correctly, it said something like 8-10 weeks to fulfill. About two weeks later I got my check for $20.00. Just tossed out the scanner about five weeks ago.

For those of you reading both posts, who are slow readers, let me point out this is the same message as on the other comment. To save you the hours of grief of having to puzzle out more funny letters and word.

So the site says "Specify your comment below. Please respect other members when posting your message." I see that goes unheeded by some that frequent this site.

If you would have read both notes, you would have noticed that this was 2 over YEARS. (9 is about right). I would say that is pretty good.

If we want to toss around accusations based on no more than the pure speculations base on no information, I can pose something like you are employed by these companies to defend them.

I post what I know. Take my comment as you will. What I want to do is provide information to others when they select their purchases.

WC, your problem that happened "years ago" is still occuring today. Go and buy a computer from best buy or circuit city and see if you get one cent back. Filling out the forms properly is important, but has nothing to do with a company that has no intention of honoring the rebate to begin with.

I agree with WC.
Thanks for the information.

'...based on no more than the pure speculations...' Nope. Mine was based on actual experience. Aren't you listing to one side from carrying that grudge on your shoulder for so long? Life is too short--smile once in a while.

Tiger Direct and Office Depot were listed as the worst offenders of the rebate scam's.
