Thai Airways Complaint - Negligence And Apathy In Baggage Handling
I flew from Kolkata, India to Incheon in S.Korea by Thai Air ways flight nos tg 314 and 634 changing the aircraft at bangkok, on 20th June 2007. My luggage of 2 suitcases were booked thru to Incheon from Kolkata.
When I arrived at Incheon I found both my suitcases were missing. After running around for quite a while Thai Airways registered my complaints on "property irregularity report". I flew by domestic air to Ulsan, a city in South Korea where I had to spend the night of 20th June without any sleeping clothes or change of clothes for which I could not go out of the hotel for social visits and had to buy toilet articles as well.
When the suit cases were returned the next evening I found that the trolley wheels and the pulling strap of one of the suit cases were missing and suit cases very dirty and bruised. After lot of follow up over 3 weeks the damaged suit cases were picked up and returned after another 4 weeks after very shoddy repair work. I refused to accept the repairs and asked for replacement. Their reply was that the suit case was old model of Echolac !
Thai air ways since then has not acknowledged any mails from me on the subject.
I have all the exchange of correspondence on the affair.
My request and advice to travelers is to avoid Thai Air ways like the plague unless you want to go through the same hassles as me
I shall be grateful of any advice from fellow travelers or knowledgeable persons how to take the airline to task in these matters of deficient service and harassment.
