Alltel Complaint - Don't encourage incompetentcy, avoid AllTel
TYLER, TEXAS -- My son and I waited almost an hour to purchase a prepaid phone at the Tyler AllTel store. When we left, my son could not make a call and he noticed the phone was set to roaming. When we called the Customer Service number, we were informed that our number did not exist! This was in spite of paying a $35 activation fee! We returned to the store to advise them of the problem and they made us wait another 45 minutes to be informed that the phone had not been properly programed earlier that day. I requested the Manager discuss this poor customer service with me; however, I was informed that there was "no manager on duty."
After my experience today and after reading the other complaints here, I would NEVER choose AllTel again. Alltel is an incompetent company with poor customer service.
