American Express Informative - Leave home with out it! - Customer dis-service

Customer dis-service
Review by jmj954 on 2007-10-19
As a former employee of American Express Centurion Travel don't waste your time and money on this card and or company. They are so mismanaged, the right hand never knows what the left hand is doing. Failure to plan is planning to fail and this is what Amex does best. The suits in New York don't have a clue and don't live in the real world. Watch as they continue to outsource to India as so many others have. Amex promotes the wrong people all the time, and they reward bad behavior. It's not what you know in this company, but who's butt your kissing. There is a mid level manager in Miami Lakes who's job description, is avoiding clients and going outside to smoke. She must really have something good on somebody higher up, because they still keep her on after 20 some years. On the front lines once you reach a certain pay level, the micro managers, (adult baby sitters), start to zero in on you so they can replace you and your high salary with the next group of incompetents.

They have depleted the talent pool of qualified people so now they have lowered the bar on new hires and their related background experience. This ultimately affects the unsuspecting card holder who gets bad service and can't quite figure out why they pay $2500.00 a year to be treated like crap. Come on American Express, WAKE UP, do random drug testing for one thing, I know many midlevel managers who smoke the illegal stuff regularly.

Also, instead of shaking up the front lines, maybe delve a little further into your managers and supervisors and do some major housecleaning. Miramar Centurion could use a total hose down of mid-upper level management.
That's all, for now.

Seems like you're flaming them because you were fired.

Major housecleaning is usually done in the springtime at the Brady Bunch house.

jmj954, I've learned that it's usually not a smart move to say things when you're still very angry. Words would come out in a way that would make you sound bitter.Just bitter. You might be saying the truth, but people won't see that. All they would know is that you feel bad about being fired that's why you're saying nasty things. I suggest that once you've calmed down, you write another blog and this time cut short on the nasty comments and add facts to support what you are saying. :)

Judging from my recent experiences with AMEX jmj954 is right. If a customer acually gets someone on the phone who speaks understandable english understands the problem and trys to help they will be removed from the loop and the customer will be thrown back into the revolving door with idiots who either do not know how to do the job, don't care, or are just to darn lazy to fix any problem. The left hand truly does not know what the right hand is doing.
