TheDigitalNerds.com Complaint - Misleading, deceitful reps; poor service
ONLINE -- I ordered a camera online from thedigitalnerds.Com, which stated clearly on their site that the item was in stock. After ordering was complete I received an email telling me to call an 800 number to "confirm" my purchase, which I did the next day. After confirming the purchase (the representative mentioned nothing about the camera being out of stock, was mentionably rude on the phone and put me on hold numerous times) this guy badgered me repeatedly about buying a memory card, telling me I couldn't get a better deal than the one he was offering. (1Gb for $79, while I found a 4gb card online for $39).
He also told me I needed to buy a better battery because the one provided would only power the camera for 20 mins, I found out later the camera comes with a great battery and should power it for about 200 shots. Nonetheless, I refused all of his extra offers, even though he didn't want to take no for an answer. I received an email 2 days after I made the call telling me the the item was out of stock for 6-8 weeks, and that they were cancelling the order. I have yet to find out whether or not I got a full credit on my card.
It seems ridiculous to me to have to call to confirm the order, which I did "successfully", and then find out 2 days after the fact that the "confirmation" is not a confirmation at all, that it's just a scheme to try to peddle more stuff to me, stuff they claimed I needed which in fact I didn't, and they didn't even have the main thing I wante to buy!
