British Airways Complaint - No refund on duplicate flight booked for unaccompanied minors
ENGLAND -- I recently booked two flights for my kids to fly from Stockholm to Heathrow next March. Because they are flying as UM's, BA issue paper e-tickets (go figure). As a result this is not reflected on either your Executive Club account online nor do they email you. You are only sent the paper ticket, which never arrived for me. I normally start a file for each trip with all relevant flight details, etc that I print out from confirmation emails. I figured that when I received the paper ticket, I would add tis to the file. As I did not receive the ticket, it slipped my mind that I booked it so several weeks later when checking the trip file I noticed that no flight details existed for my kids so I assumed I hadn't booked the flights.
I called BA and booked again. it wasn't until I had paid the fare that the sales person informed me that he just discovered that I had booked the same flight a month earlier for my two kids. He informed me that he would try and get a refund sorted but that I would have to wait until the refund team called me back. Well they called me back today and informed that I would not receive a refund.
I would understand if the flight was booked for two different destinations but ow can they not see that their system failed me and allowed me to book the same two small human beings onto the same flight. I guess if BA could help me to clone my kids then this wouldn't be a problem. So in essence, BA are prepared to take my money for two flights for the ame two minors on the same flight. I am not only appalled but am now on the official warpath to make sure that everyone knows about this, both in the media and otherwise.
My husband is a gold card member and we have been loyal BA customers for many many years.
