Panda AntiVirus 2007 Complaint - Poor Renewal Services
I have discovered lately that products that I like (example our vehicle which is a Honda Fit) have the worst PR departments on the planet.
This is particularly true of Panda AntiVirus. I like the product very much (AntiVirus 2007). It is quick and effective. By and large it is inobtrusive on Windows XP, although the same cannot be said for older computers that run Win98 SE. Still with a little help, it is more than adequate for even those old grandfather guys.
My problem came when it was time to renew my license. I am now a day overdue as I write this. I would renew in an instant if I knew the answer to one question: can I renew Panda 2007 rather than changing to Panda 2008 which will not work with Win 98.
I've tried using email to ask if I can just renew 2007. I've sent about 5 emails -- each with an increasing degree of impatience. A simple yes or no would be appreciated.
I've tried telephoning. Can you believe that you are put on hold and when it is your turn to talk, you are told that no one is available and you can leave a voice mail.
The voice mail box is full. So I was stuck. I will not renew without knowing the answer to my question. I thought I might have better results in the United States (since I am down here now anyway).
No such luck. The 800 number does not work. I am given some sort of gobbedy gook about only dialing a 5 digit number.
Then the pop ups start. About 1 every minute. But no way to answer except to renew the license.
Surely this constitutes invasion of privacy.
