Golden Grain Company Complaint - Bugs in rice - Riceroni
ELMIRA, NEW YORK -- Yes I bought 6 boxes of Riceroni and they all had bugs in it. I'm not the one to complain but I thought I would inform you.
I bought them two days ago.

You should contact their corporate headquarters, if this is in fact true, they may want to do a recall on all product that was packaged at the same place and time as the ones you bought.

Also complain to the grocery store where you purchased. More than likely, the rice product sat in their warehouse for a while, where these weavils "dug in" to the boxes. Look for the small holes toward the bottom of the boxes. Look in your flour and other grain products, too (cereal, spices, etc.) You will literally have to dispose of ALL of these products, clean out the cabinets/pantry, spray with bug spray and then disinfect. Buy all new grain products. Store in plastic zip bags so that if newly infested is bought again, you won't have to throw everything away again. Been there/done that.

If I were you, I'd take them back to the store where you bought them. I wouldn't doubt their whole stock is like this. Those slick critters can slip through a hairline crack. It's for reasons such as this that I empty and wash all mayonnaise, pickle, etc., jars with screw top lids which hold at least a quart. Immediately upon buying something that may atract these little buggers, I open the box and put it into one of the jars. Even if there's a bug I may have missed, they can't get out. My pantry looks like an old fashioned pharmacy--all foods of this type stored in glass jars. I've managed to outwit them since I once had to go through what moneybags mentioned. Also, the product stays fresh for a longer period of time.
