General Motors Complaint - GMC lack of quality
ROCHESTER, PENNSYLVANIA -- I am very upset over the lack of quality of my 1999 GMC Sonoma Highrider. I ma the original owner of this vehicle and a former GMC fan and customer. I have only 44,000 miles on it and I baby that truck like no other vehicle on the road. Well let me tell you all the troubles I have had with it since I purchased it on June 28, 1999. I have had problems with the four wheel drive locking in and not disengaging. I have had to replace the idler amr at about 37,000 miles. I had to replace a wheelbearing at 43,500 miles, and I am going to have to replace both upper and lower balljoints very soon. And finally, because of poor design on the third door, my door has been leaking since almost the first time it rained on my truck. I have had it in for service many times to the dealer and everytime when it was still covered under warranty the dealership would tell me that they could not get it to leak for they even when they pressure tested it !! I knew that was bullsh*t because even when I left the dealership I could still see daylight from inside the cab out through the top right corner of the window on the drivers side. I am very upset that because of poor design on the third door that now everytime it raines my electric controls get soaked and I am just waiting for them to short out. I wish I could find the address to send this straight to GMC and ask them what can they do for me to try to win me back as a person who may purchase a GMC vehicle again. I also work with a guy who has a 2000 GMC Sonoma Highrider and he too has had many bad quality experiences with it. It is very dissapointing to pay almost $30,000 for a vehicle that has so many problems.
