MBS Direct Complaint - Dissatisfaction with MBS Direct in response to my recent textbook order
I want to express my dissatisfaction with MBS Direct in response to my recent textbook order (order # 6107668/3256792). I placed the order on 06/03/2003 specifying a 2-day delivery. I was out of town and expected my books to be delivered during my absence; however, much to my surprise the books did not arrive before my return on 06/07. I promptly called MBS direct to find out that shipping was delayed due to "mechanical problems". The person I spoke with assured me that my books would be shipped overnight on Monday, June 9th and that I would receive an email confirming the shipment. I did not receive the email, so I called MBS again on Monday evening. The person I spoke with told me that the books did not ship on Monday. They also told me that on Tuesday the order would definitely ship overnight, and that I would receive them on Wednesday. Again on Tuesday I did not receive an email confirming the shipment, and again I called MBS. This time I spoke with a lady who informed me that I should have never been told that the order would ship, because MBS doesn’t know when the books will ship. I begin class on Thursday, for which I need the books, and for which I have reading assignments due on the first night of class. It is now Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at 9:00 pm EDT and I still have not received an email acknowledging the shipment of my books. The lack of communications, or inaccuracy of the information from MBS, has left me in a bind and I will carefully consider purchasing my textbooks from another company in the future.
