AVS Media Complaint - Unusable software and deplorable customer support

Review by amt2100 on 2007-10-24
Buying software from this company is a gamble at best. I feel like my money was thrown in the trash. I bought a package of 4 programs and have had nothing but problems getting them "registered". They don't accept the password keys supplied by the company and as "unregistered" versions, have almost no value.
Getting a response from AVS Media usually takes several days, at least a full day at best. When you are trying to get some work done, you might as well go ahead and buy different software.

I bought this software 8 months ago and have been going back and forth with them trying to get it to work and it still doesn't work and they have stopped responding.

People should know about this company. They have absolutely no phone number, so you can never talk to anyone, only wait days for an email response. Companies like this should be shut down.

Thank you passerby, however, that is a fax number, which I tried using also. No response. I can do a search on the Internet also...
You find me a real phone number that gets to a person at that company, then I'll be impressed. I found the names of officers in the company and still no phone numbers.
These guys don't want to be reached.
Bottom line, buy their software at your own peril. You'd be better off going to dinner and a movie with a friend.

I agree completly. The package does not cost much, but it is money wasted. I also purchased the 4 program package to convert DVD's of 40 years worth of home movies to AVI format so they could be edited on MovieMaker 2. It is completly beyond this program. I have 8 or 10 emails from their "technical support" people, ( each of which took 2 to 3 days to respond) and the response is all garbage. Save your money and look somewhere else for video conversion software.
If any one knows of good software to convert VOB files on DVD to AVI I would be most appreciative. Regards, L. Boczar

After reading the bad review about AVSMEDIA I forwarded the review to AVSMEDIA to see how long it would take them respond to me. To my surprise I received a most satisfying reply within the day. I successfully tested the various modules and now feel very confident about purchasing the product.
