Cox Communications Inc Complaint - Billing problems on home cable & internet
RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CALIFORNIA -- I have had it with Cox's confusing billing. I had taken a 6 month trial of their Premier Internet service, and since I found it about the same as the service I had for the prior 5 years I asked in August to be taken back to the internet service that I had previously as I did not find the Premier worth the extra $15/month. However, what they did was put me on their "Basic" internet service - which is so slow it is almost useless, and what they did not tell me at the time was that by doing this I would also lose my $11.95/month package discount (Cable / internet / phone). When I called to complain that my internet service was much slower than what I had originally (for 5 years) they then explained that there are 3 levels of service - Basic, Preferred and Premium. When I said that I had asked to be taken back to the service level that I had for years, they explained that it was Preferred - did not know why I was put onto Basic. Even after doing that they still took away my package discount - saying that once you down-grade service you lose the discount and cannot get it back! This is crazy! I still have have all 3 services, AND I had upgraded to the HD cable service (very expensive). Their billing is so confusing that how can anyone keep up with it?
While the Cox service is good I have had it with their expensive surcharges and confusing billing policies. As soon as I can get Verizon here I'm done with Cox.
