Sears Complaint - Online Ordering is Horrible and So Is Customer Service
PENNSYLVANIA -- I ordered a Craftsman tool chest online to pick up at a store near my home. I receive an email a short time later that the order was cancelled. I was told it was not available at the store I wanted to pick it up at, that I should try another store. So, I did. Little did I know, they already deducted $113.98 from my checking account for the 1st cancelled order. So I placed another online order because it stated it was available at another store for pick up. Then I receive another email that the order was cancelled because it was not available and another $113.98 was deducted from my checking account.
I called online customer service and was told that the one store did have the item I wanted and wasn't sure why online ordering was telling me different. They suggested I order it through customer service and they will deduct $65 for the shipping. I place the order with customer service for delivery and was told that I would see a credit of $65 in my checking and another $100 credit for the gift card I was using.
My checking account stated I had a total of $446.44 deducted from my checking account - 2 for the cancelled orders and 1 I placed for delivery. But the $100 gift card was never deducted from my order. So I called Sears again regarding the gift card and why it was not deducted from my order. They stated no gift card was applied and in order for it to be applied I would have to cancel the entire order. In the meantime, I already received 2 of the 3 boxes. I told them they never credited my account for the 2 cancelled orders and was told it would take 3 to 5 business days.
In a matter of 3 days, I spoke to 3 managers and 5 customer service reps and got no where. I have never dealt with a company or business who deducts money from an account until the order has been processed or fulfilled and ready to be picked up or shipped. Sears takes your money even before you receive a cancellation email. It takes them a matter of minutes to deduct money from your account but it takes 3 to 5 business days to credit your account.
Never again will I be buying anything from Sears, either it be online or going directly into the store.
