Land America Buyers Home Warranty Complaint - Home Warranty Rip Off

Review by beelt on 2007-10-27
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CALIFORNIA -- I moved into my newly purchased home and 1 week later the water heater started leaking. Land America Home Warranty sent out a plumber and he determined that the water heater is old and leaking from the inside and that he needed to get authorization for the new water heater. Land America would never return my calls and after my fifth call to them they said that I need to wait until Monday for a supervisor to review my policy and home inspection (the plumber was here on Friday).

These rip-offs are just looking for a reason to NOT honor the warranty. Be warned to never buy a home warranty from this company.

Most of those home warranties are nearly worthless. You might want to read the warranty to see if there is a deductible.

Yes there is a deductible, which I already paid to the plumber for his evaluation. These people actually laughed at me when I called about the authorization for the work. I am not sure what to do next. My water heater is still leaking all over the garage and I am broke from the move-in. The warranty specifically states the it covers water heaters and plumbing repaire due to age.
