Marantz America Inc. Complaint - Dissatisfaction with performance of remote control

Review by cjdonnie on 2003-06-18
MORGAN HILL, CALIFORNIA -- A letter was mailed to Marantz America Inc. on 2/23/02. They have not responded.

The letter informed Marantz of our purchase of their ST8200 receiver and stating that the performance of the receiver has been outstanding. We also stated that the included remote controller (RD3200A) has been an extreme disappointment.

After spending almont $2,000 on the receiver (remote included) we expected more. The remote is programmable but should the batteries need to be changed..... all programming on the remote is erased. The remote can address a computer in order to program, create macros, save information, etc. When this function is performed, all information on the remote is lost because the batteries are drained during the process.

Our stereo consultant has informed us that there is another remote (without these problems) available (for more money) that will address our receiver. We inquired if Marantz would allow a trade-up - turn in this lousy remote and pay the difference to upgrade to the better performing remote. They have not even bothered to respond.

We would like a response from Marantz and if possible, arrange an upgrade to a remote that fulfills expectations.
