Hewlett-Packard Company Complaint - HP Home Shopping.com - Lies, Lies, Lies
On September 20th I was looking at purchasing a new digital camera because I was unhappy with a previous Fuji Camera purchase, and I was pretty thrilled by the features of the new M737 model that they offered. I decided to do more research on the HP Home Store before going out shopping and found that they were offering 6 months no payments no interest on purchases with the HP Shopping Card.
My account was approved and before I made my purchase I chatted with TWO different sales support representatives to confirm that my purchase qualified for the 6 months no payments no interest plan and was ASSURED BY BOTH that my purchase did indeed qualify. So .... I make my purchase, and I’m extremely happy with this little camera AND with HP ..... that is ..... until I get an email from HP Card Services that I owe a minimum on my new account.
I emailed HP Card Services regarding this account and this is what I was told:
Dear Valued Hewlett-Packard Customer,
Thank you for your email inquiry dated 10/24/2007.
The purchase on date for $09/20/2007 was made under a 6 months same as cash with payments plan.
A minimum payment is required each month. If you do not make a payment, or if the payment is received late, a late fee will be charged. If this purchase is paid in full by 12/21/2007, finance charges will not be assessed. However, if the payment in full is not received by this date, finance charges will accrue from the date of purchase.

Ok .... so first of all .... look at the line that says The purchase on date for 09/20/2007 was made under a 6 months same as cash with payments plan.
Then look at the next paragraph that states: If this purchase is paid in full by 12/21/2007, finance charges will not be assessed. That is 3 months .... not 6 months !!
So next I contact HP Card Services by telephone as I was assured by them (on 09/20) that once my purchase reached them, the promotion would show up in their system. When I spoke with them THIS TIME ..... they tell me HP Shopping doesn’t offer such deals.
Next I contacted an HP sales rep and was told by them as well that HP Shopping doesn’t offer deals such as the one I was referring to and was told to contact HP Shopping ..... which I did ..... NO ONE, as many different people as I’ve been told to talk to, could help me.
What a crock! As soon as I pay for this camera I'm cancelling this account and I'm letting everyone I know about my experience!
