Circuit City Complaint - Web order from Circuit City was a disaster
I ordered a Sony PS3 and some games from Circuit City. The entire experience was horrible and I had a series of problems culminating with them trying to charge me for an order that never shipped. In order of occurrence: 1) On the web form the item was supposed to arrive in 4-9 day, once I placed the order I got e-mail saying it would take 16 days and I could not cancel the order at that point. 2) After 16 days the item did not arrive and I called to find out why not. I was told that the item could take up to 24 days and again not allowed to cancel. They gave me a shipping number form FedEx that was not valid even after I called back to verify that I had the correct number. 3) After 30 days they claimed that I had received the item even though I had not and the shipping number they used to support the claim was invalid. 4) When the case was escalated I spoke with a man who was extremely rude.
I won't quote the whole conversation but it was incomprehensible to me how someone in a customer service managerial position could act as he did. He could not provide tracking information showing delivery but claimed it was not relevant since his information showed the order had shipped and insisted that no credit would be issued and that it was between me and FedEx.
After much aggravation, I filed a dispute with my credit card company and I am waiting on the outcome.
