Maytag - Whirpool Corporation Informative - Maytag Dryer (new) is Junk

Review by mikeer11 on 2007-11-01
TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- I purchased a New Maytag Dryer (Model#MDG308DAWW “front load”) from Home Depot on February 9, 2007. Since that time I’ve had four services calls and the dryer still won't work properly. Maytag or Whirlpool now refused to replace this piece of junk. My old Maytag dryer (17 years in age) was working fine when I gave it away and decided to buy a new one. This was my mistake to get a new one and it looks like I’ll pay for it from now on.

By the way ironically Maytag (the Dependability People) sent me an extended warranty agreement this past week. This gives a whole new meaning to being dependable. I guess the only thing I will be able to depend on is now that I own this Maytag piece of CRAP and Maytag is going to see to it that I pay twice for fixing this sorry excuse for a dryer.

DON’T BUY anything with MAYTAG on it I also purchased a Maytag Dishwasher and had the pump go out on it a few months after installation.

You got a lemon. You need to find out your state’s lemon law on consumer products/services.

Sad about Maytag. Our first was a cast aluminum tub model with a gasoline engine (We had no elect on our ranch) in 1935. I converted it to elect and used it myself until 1950 and then bought an automatic that was still good when I gave it away in 1980 and bought another that I used for 20 more years. It was really true about the maytag man.

What would "Old Lonely" say?
Posted by SilverWngs71 on 2007-11-01:
NO lemon law on appliances!! Only on vehicles.

Lemon law is not solely for large ticket items such as automobiles, trucks, motorcycles, RVs and boats.

I agree with you on Maytag. I had Maytag charge me 50.00 to repair my dishwasher through our home warranty.Maytag couldn't find the problem so they did nothing and kept our 50.00.
