General Mills Informative - Pizzas Recalled - possible E Coli contamination

Review by 20131 on 2007-11-01
General Mills says it is recalling some frozen pizzas sold under the Totino's and Jeno's label because of possible E. coli contamination.

The company says the problem may stem from pepperoni produced at an Ohio plant. General Mills says state and federal authorities have been investigating 21 E. coli illnesses in 10 states.

Nine of those 21 people reported eating Totino's or Jeno's pizza with pepperoni topping at some point before becoming ill.

Symptoms of E. coli can include stomach cramps and diarrhea. People typically are ill for two to five days but can develop complications including kidney failure.

DC, she is gone now, the city of Albany has bared her from entering any business in Albany and they took her Internet connection away and removed her PC. Last we heard she was hitchhiking her way to North Carolina.

That was a sweet stapler. Top of the line Swingline in the rare grey bisque paint code I believe.

Pirate, you posted this before the big four networks even posted the news. Good job!
Posted by Anonymous on 2007-11-02:
Super, he copied and pasted this which is fine and VH in passing it on but he didn't want to post his source. I find that sad and cheap. Now get your nose out of his butt, that is really sick!
Posted by Anonymous on 2007-11-02:
OK Dad, sorry, promise it won't happen again. Funny that Stew flames me if I C&P but calls PWP "my3cent's leading consumer advocate" when he does it. Kind of a double standard, eh?
Posted by Slimjim on 2007-11-02:
This was on yahoo's home page before it ever hit here. It was all over the net as soon as the recall was announced. That's the beauty of the internet. You don't have to wait till 5'oclock to get the latest.

Lidman, its been all over the national and local news channels. Good work PWP!!

It never bothered me if a review is a c/p...I've done it...the point is when it's something important, then people must get it in front of as many people's faces as possible...cut and paste or not. Good job Pirate...this was the first I heard of it....THEN I heard it on our news.
Posted by Anonymous on 2007-11-02:
No Playboy channel DB? Would you send me some pictures then?
Posted by DebtorBasher on 2007-11-02:
NO! NO MORE VIRUS'!!!!!!!!!!

I don't remember when I've bought a frozen pizza at the grocery, but did last week, brought home and put in the freezer. When I read this informative thought well, there I go. I checked the brand I bought, it was "Tombstone Pepperoni" and I couldn't help but be amused at the irony.

A month or so ago an employee came in laughing. I asked him what was so funny and he answered he had just heard on the news a certain brand of pot pies had been recalled. He immediately looked in his freezer and yep, that was not only the brand but the number that had been recalled. Why was he laughing? Because he had already eaten two of them.

What is it with all these recalls? My thoughts are there is better communication and we learn of these problems sooner. I really can't imagine these companies having lower health standards now than they did years ago. Ideas anyone?
