Dana Lincoln / Mercury - Staten Island NY Complaint - Raised the price - Sales

Review by EmmaRay on 2007-11-03
STATEN ISLAND, NEW YORK -- Leased a 2008 Mercury Mariner Premier. payments where better then buying and I used my 2002 Winstar (mint condition low mileage they gave me 8500.00 for the trade)... Mariner MSRP $29895.00 BUT when I read the lease agreement it said the price I agreed on was $34000.00 They explained everything to me on how they came to the new price we where there for 3 hours It sounded OK until I got home with the truck and re-read everything Thats went I realized the upped the price to compensate for the TRADE. I guess waiting for 3 hours worked for them..

We love the Mariner Has everything for the REAL price BUT NOT the $34000.00 inflated price.. There will be no NEXT time for us... BUYER BEWARE OF CAR SALESMEN.

Did you have a payoff on the 02 Windstar? The price may appear to be higher if you are looking at the price after the payoff of the trade was added back in. In other words, if you owed more than the $8500 they gave you on the Windstar, the difference would be make the "total" bottom line price higher than the MSRP.

Car salesmen are sometimes dishonest? NO WAY!! You should read contracts before signing them? NO WAY!! OP should not be allowed to conduct own financial matters? NO WAY!!
