Ashley Furniture Complaint - Still Have Not Received Items
GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA -- 8 weeks ago I purchased $1980.00 worth of living and dining room furniture. When we were working with the salesman he advised that most of his customers were receiving their furniture within 3 days. I didn't purchase the furniture on that contingency, however it was being advised. When I signed the paperwork and I knew I could have to wait at the most 8 weeks for delivery. At approximately 5 weeks we called becasue we hadn't heard anything from them. They advised us an E.T.A. of 1 week from the call I had placed. I then called back again a little over a week later. The gave me another week for delivery and so on an so forth. I purchased my furniture on September 2nd, 2007. Today is November 4th and the furniture has yet to arrive and they are advising that they do not know when it will be delivered. On previous conversations, to include a manager, we had been advised that since all sales are final that even if we didn't receive our furniture we would not get a refund, that the most they could do is give us the floor model.
THIS COMPANY HAS SHOWN NOT CARE OR REMORSE FOR THE SITUATION. Bad customer service, definitely. I am at the point of pulling a protest permit from the county, so I can notify prospective customers: even though they say that most of their customers are new to town b/c of the University of Florida, so they don't care.
Just to note. I purchased my bedroom furniture on the same day from Rooms to Go. Beds and received the set within 2 weeks. Included in the bedroom set was a mattress which I had found to be too firm and had re-visited the showroom, chose another mattress and had a re-delivery in a week. Total time for delivery and re-delivery:3 1/2 weeks, in excellent condition, with customer courtesy calls of delivery confirmation and customer satisfaction.
