AVP Of Kansas City, MO. Complaint - Cobra Forms and payment

Review by single on 2007-11-05
LACROSSE, WISCONSIN -- On 31 August 2007, I, along with several other people were let go because of change. The Company is AVP of Kansas City that has contracts all over. It is a non employee work place and there rules only benefit them. I asked that the cobra forms be sent to me and her response was I'll get them out to you when I get around to it. 1 month later they arrived and I mailed the forms back. Never did I get a bill and my health insurance expired.

I had to quickly find another health ins. plan to cover me. This company violates all rules they enforce and this just was a piece of it. AVP was created in 1985 and I have met the CEO and the entire close knit cast and your judge as soon as you get in the door.

This company has a hostile work force and there door is revolving 99% of the time....

I'm no HR expert, but I thought it was the Health provider's responsibility to send you the COBRA forms? I know the employer does not pay for any part of your COBRA coverage, and you usually have to pay like 105% of what the employer+employee cost was while you were employed. So it is usually better to find your own coverage elsewhere anyway... In my opinion!

Sparticus I believe when my husband quit his job his employer sent the Cobra paperwork. I'm 95% sure hehe. We didn't do that because of the cost though. Wayyy too expensive!
