P&G Informative - Magic Eraser - Just Okay
MADISONVILLE, KENTUCKY -- Yesterday evening my youngest son managed to get his little mits on a black permanent marker. Three year old, permanent marker-need I say more.
I purchased these little Mr. Clean magic erasers about two weeks ago just for these situations. And I am not too overly impressed with them.
We had permanent marker all over the linoleum floor, the door to the garage and on the kick molding of our wall. I wet the product according to package directions and the first thing I noticed was that even though soaking wet it still managed to stay light and easy to use.
It worked wonderful getting off the marker from the door and kick molding. The only thing was you had to scrub extremely hard to get it off. The eraser itself became full of holes and was very worn after only 5 minutes of scrubbing. Not something I would have expected from a product they claim can be used over and over again. I barely got one use out of one eraser.
Now to the floors, I wet the second eraser in the package according to the directions and tried to scrub the marker off the linoleum. It did not work at all. It didn't even lighten the ink stain.
This product claims to be able to remove scuff marks and stains off of all surfaces, including linoleum. It did not take off the marker. We had a small scuff mark from my sons hot wheels and it did not get that up either.
Mr. Clean Magic Erasers have their good uses though. With some super duper scrubbing it did take off the marker from the walls, the kick molding, the door, and the refrigerator like it said it would. And I would recommend this product for someone who has a small scuff on their molding or doors.
The downside is that the product itself in my honest opinion is not intended for multiple uses as they claim. It falls apart very easily after prolonged periods of scrubbing. And at over 3.00 for two I would highly advise those with big jobs like mine not to waste your money on these. You will have more success with an acetone based nail polish remover and straight bleach.
