Overstock.com Complaint - Better Business Standards
NAPLES, FLORIDA -- Recently purchased a duvet cover for my down quilt from Overstocks.com. The initial online experience was reasonable along with the confirmation formats received. Delivery via UPS was about right too.
When I opened the package I came to find that they had either subbed a color that was not even close or blown the color selection altogether in their pick 'n pack process.
I immediately requested a return sticker and was notified by return e-mail that it would be two business days for the customer service review / return authorization and approximately four weeks before I would receive the actual credit due to their inspection process. (Gee I hope it's better than their pick n pack disciplines)
Additionally, I was informed in writing that their $1 shipping fee come on really isn't a $1.00 shipping fee at all in the event you return the item. I was surprised to find that an $11.00 shipping fee is then deducted from the full credit that you are going to be waiting four weeks to receive as well.
In my opinion these are shoddy business practices and thought it worth a few minutes of my time to make other consumers aware of the same.
I am so accustomed to the above board practices of a company like a Lands' End from soup to nuts no matter what the product that I guess I am just spoiled.
