Kentucky Fried Chicken Complaint - Chicken preparation
AMHERST, NEW YORK -- My friend purchased the 12 pack chicken with sides & biscuits at the KFC location in Amherst, New York 14226 on Bailey Avenue on Friday, 11/9/07. She was the only person in the restaurant at 3:45 pm when she placed the order. The female behind the counter was very courteous and the service was good; however, her complaint does not deal with either of these issues. Hers, mine, and others we entertained that evening complained about the preparation of the chicken.
She ordered 12 pieces of chicken (original recipe), 2 potatoes with gravy, corn, and 6 biscuits (with pats of butter to go). This was a takeout order. Once at home, we discovered the chicken was so greasy that it was nauseating. The breading was so greasy that it slid off the chicken and was not edible. Once the breading (which was one of the highlights of KFC in the past) was removed, we proceeded to eat the chicken. Unfortunately, the oil permeated the chicken as well, which left one feeling very nauseated. My party was very dissatisfied with the chicken. The only saving grace was the sides and biscuits which were tasty.
My question is: Shouldn't the breaded chicken have been placed in the fryer once the order was placed rather than several hours before? The oil obviously had a chance to saturate through the chicken. Since there was no one in the establishment except my friend, and no room for excuse, the meal should have been superior. In light of these circumstances, KFC at the very least should reimburse my friend the cost of the meal. It should also closely supervise the KFC establishment on Bailey Avenue in Amherst, New York if it does not want to lose business.
Thank you for the chance to speak up!
