Fox Rental Car - San Francisco SFO Complaint - Poor Management
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA -- We rented a car at the San Francisco airport (SFO) location.
The manager was named Jack. The vehicle we rented as a 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid.
Our vehicle broke down so we called Fox, the person who answered the phone told us to just get a jump start because we probably left the headlights on which we didn't.
We had the vehicle jumped by hotel valet only to have the vehicle's lights flashing on the dash. We called the rental agency and Jack told us to continue driving the vehicle for 10-15 mins. We did and the vehicle's steering locked-up and car died, we almost got into an accident.
We called Jack at Fox Rental Car and told him what happened and he told us we probably damaged the vehicle by jumping it and would have to drive it back or have it towed back. We pleased for advice or assistance and were shunned and told we would have to figure it out.
After three hours waiting the manager Jack called and said he was sending a tow truck to get the car. About 45 mins later two guys showed up from Fox rental car with a replacement car and jumper cables. The two employees were shocked that the manager didn't tell us they were coming and that he told us to continue driving an unsafe vehicle.
The manager offer no apology and sounded quite sarcastic in person and on the phone.
We missed a very important event at Stanford because of this manager's poor customer service.
