DirecTV Inc Complaint - Charges on timely returned equipment
MESQUITE, TEXAS -- 1- DirecTV's rep never told us we would have a 24-month contract and would be charged a per-month fee if we canceled early.
2- DirecTV's website is designed not to pay your bill, but to get your credit card information so they can charge you for contract fees and equipment if you cancel. Our bank account was charged ovwer $200 before we could even get the final bill.
3.- DirecTV will charge your credit card or bank account even if you return the equipment well in advance of their 10-day deadline. Ours was received a whole week before they charged our account over $400! Even though plenty of evidence, including FedEx receipt, serial numbers of the receivers, FedEx confirmation of delivery and copy of signature of the person receiving the equipment, have been e-mailed to DirecTV, they still say they have not received the equipment. Finally today they said they got ONE of the four receivers and have credited our account $55.
We'll see tomorrow. But why just one? They're trying to appease us and stop us from disputing the charge with our bank which I will do tomorrow. I want to get my money before they file bankruptcy or sell out.
