Lowe's Complaint - Poor Delivery
EASTON, MARYLAND -- On November 7th, 2007 my wife and I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator. No box was available for the unit, so I asked that the fridge be "shrink wrapped" to prevent any scratches during delivery. We were initially told that delivery was "FREE". Upon getting to the checkout lane, we were informed that delivery was $75, but we could get a rebate for that amount by sending in the appropriate info. We SPECIFICALLY told them that we wanted delivery to occur on November 12th, at 9:00 am. We were assured that would happen.
On November 12th, at 8:30 am, I called LOWE'S to verify that our product was going to be delivered. Lowe's advised that everything was confirmed. At 10:00 am, after 4 phone calls, after being told by the delivery services that "...your salesman at Lowe's lied to you", we found out that our refrigerator was an "add on" which means it was to be delivered as that last item of the day. After 2 more phone calls, we were assured that the delivery would take place at 10:25 am. At 10:55 am, the truck arrived. The delivery men were GREAT! No Kidding!! However, when the wrapping was removed, there was a dent on the freezer door, and the handle was scratched. Lowe's has agreed to have these pieces replaced. The delivery company has offered us $100 due to the botched delivery time. I will update as things occur.
