GoDaddy Complaint - Rigid unhelpful customer service - Web Hosting

Web Hosting - Complaint
Review by MauryaMarie on 2007-11-14
Service, good. Price excellent. Service horrendous. If you ask a question,(such as how to change your info when you don't know your pin/credit card number) be prepared to get an e-mail saying your question will be answered in 24 hours.

Then you will get a canned response to your question that will clearly be sent by some robot who didn't read your question.

After you kick that back to them you will get another e-mail from someone who hasn't read your question. And tells you to input your pin/credit card number

Eventually you will give up and call them. At which point they will tell you to copy your drivers license, company info and fax it to a number. You will then wait 24 hours to be told that your drivers license is not readable by fax (duh). So you scan and send it to their address and they tell you to scan it to them. You wait another 24 hours to be told that you need to send it to another address. By that time you are ready to strangle. Oh and by the way, if you have several accounts you will have to go through this process for each one. The WHOLE process. They can't change more than one at a time.

It is clear that their drones are adept at playing ping pong and getting the request off their desk rather than actually providing support.

I've used GoDaddy, and, not had any issues. I've never had to send them anything.

I've also not used them for web hosting services, just domain name registration.

Can you be more specific about your problem?

Hmm, I will have to research this by watching some of their commercials

One Eye we know why your watching the commercials. LOL

MauryaMarie, GoDaddy is about the best there is right now. You could have done a lot worse and be part of the nightmare at Netsol. We moved over 200 domains away from Netsol onto GoDaddy and they have been 99.9% perfect. We also saved thousands of dollars in domain costs.

MauryaMarie,GoDaddy's has Dana Kirkpatrick doing their promo, they can't be that bad, can they?
Good review tough.

The timing of this is coincidental because GoDaddy just called me today to inform me of domains of ours that are expiring. Even though we were letting them go by design, the rep was still very helpful after the fact and made some account changes on the fly for me. I'm not saying Maury doesn't have a legit beef, just I can not agree GoDaddy offers inferior service, today anyway.

I would like to add the pin is for your protection against domain thieves and other bad stuff. I am glad GoDaddy is so tight and makes sure it's you before they will make changes to an account.

If you are looking for good hosting, I've used hostdime for a few years, and, I'm very happy with them. When I have a question (and, I email it...I really hate talking on the phone), it never takes longer than 4-8 hours to get a response.

Just my experience, that's all.

Considering your credit card and personal information is on your account I would be thankful Go Daddy is so strict. If you wanted this process to be as easy as you are sounding like you wanted it to be, anyone could call in and have access to your account. Sorry it was stressful but you really don't have an excuse to complain.

I have to add myself to list of disappointed Godaddy customers.Who found out the hard way when things go bad real real like MauryaMarie's listed complaint then you find out the hard way that Godaddy is not helpful. Here is where you have an ID theft & they ask for things that are almost impossible to provide and then there is only 10 days to do so otherwise they consider the matter closed. Then you next recourse is litigate which is expensive or file a case with ICANN which by the time they decide you are either out of business or close to it. Let alone what you are going through emotionally and spiritually. Keep this in mind when you judge MauryaMarie and the story posted above.
