Mechanicsville Dodge Complaint - Failed to put lien holder on paperwork
MECHANICSVILLE DODGE, VIRGINIA -- I asked the sales manager if I could finance a truck for a friend who was unable to finance a truck for less than 25% interest. Further more, he needed another vehicle than the one the finance company would approve. He told me I could do that so I told him I would be back the next day. The next day, I took him a check made out to Mechanicsville Dodge and gave him the lien information (our names). I also asked him to put the terms (14% interest for the specified months).
He told me that wasn't necessary. He looked it up on his computer and told me it would be ~ $600/mo. I asked him if I needed to stay to have the paperwork re-done. He said no and promised me he would take care of it. Instead they did it as a cash deal, even though the cashier's check was made out to the dealership. Plus, I personally gave him the lien holder information. When I found out the individual had the title to the truck, I made repeated calls to the dealership with no resolve. I was finally told by the sales man that the sales manager thought the clerks in the office did that. Another lie. Meanwhile, the individual put the truck up as collateral.
Because of Mechanicsville Dodge, I have lost ~ $30,000 dollars. Not only did they not do what they said they would do, they told me several lies. I will be seeking legal action. I will also advertise the event. By the way, I sold cars for several years and was the quality service manager. Even I know the finance manager puts the lien holder on the deal.
