Priceline.com and National Car Hire Complaint - Quoted $454 paid $1100
CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA -- I live in the UK and arranged a hire car with Priceline. com. these are agents for National and Alamo car hire. The cost was $454 guaranteed and covers insurance, taxes and surcharges.
At Charlotte airport they refused to accept the voucher that I produced and insisted I took cover for everything. Quoted over $1200 from my credit card. I complained but got nowhere fast.
On return I again complained and reduced the charge to $1100 as I explained I had the car within 12 and not 13 days!
I contacted both customer services and had no joy, be shunted from pillar to post. Neither taking responsibility and neither offering or honoring the original quotation.
Is there a trading standards or consumer group in the US that I can take this matter up with from the UK?
