Logans Roadhouse Restaurant Complaint - Raw Meat

Review by klbrandi on 2007-11-21
MIDLAND, MICHIGAN -- I love Logans rolls, and the rest of their food is really good. However, I used to order the teryiaki steak, well done, but every time it would come out red and bloody. The servers, who are always very nice, said that its hard to cook well done because its such a thick cut of meat. So I gave up on the steak and started ordering the teryiaki chicken. Even worse! Raw chicken is worse than raw steak if you ask me. They are always very courteous, but I just don't get how a steakhouse can constantly mess up cooking meat.

It's frustrating because I like the atmosphere and the other food.

Why are you going out of your way for a bad case of food poisoning? After two times I would leave them alone. Have you spoken with MGMT? Maybe they can solve this problem.

klbrandi, they must have changed cooks or put the one you like on a different shift like Zzrokk says you should ask the MGMT.

I ate at Logans once on 29th street in Midwest City Oklahoma. It was some of the worse overpriced slap I've ever eaten. Fluke or not I'd never go back to another Logan's again.

Different people have different tastes when it come to cooking meat, so it is difficult to find cooks who will cook meat to order. Usually, they will cook meat the way they like it or just have not been taught how to tell when meat is cooked to certain degrees. Now, I like my meat medium rare. Some people consider anything past medium well to be a waste of the meat. My sister used to require that her steaks crunched when she ate them. Chicken, however is a different story. The meat is just a preference issue, but undercooked chicken can kill, as pointed out by Gordon Ramsay on a recent Kitchen Nightmares episode. You shoulld have gone to the manager without delay, and let them know the cook was going to kill someone, if it was truly undercooked. Now, I smoke a lot of foods, and I have had people question my chicken, thinking it is undercooked. When you smoke meats, including poultry. you get what they call a smoke ring that extends well into the meat, and the meat tends to be a nice shade of pink. This does not mean the meat is undercooked, but that the smoke has penetrated the meat, fully cooking it and imparting the wonderful smoke flavor. Remember, if you did not tell the manager about the 'raw' chicken, then if someone becamse extremely ill, you are partially responsible because you did not bring it to the boss' attention.

Starlord I agree with you. Steak is one thing but chicken is another. Raw chicken is a breeding ground for Salmonella which can be fatal. Especially in small children. You should have spoken to a manager as soon as you noticed that the chicken was undercooked. That way they could go in and either re-train the chef who is making it or at least inform them that the chicken wasn't done.

BTW starlord, I love kitchen nightmares. I record it every week! Some of that stuff is nasty!

I went to Logan's here where I live and it was very good, but then I like my steak medium rare. The only problem I had there was that I had the biggest urge to get a broom and sweep the floor, there were peanut shells all over the floor.

I went to eat here once with my family & we really didn't care for it. The food was mediocre & the music was awful.
