Nimnicht Chevrolet Complaint - Documents Lost - Cancellation Of Insurance

Review by febecoon on 2007-11-24
JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA -- Bought a Silverado truck from this dealership June 9,2007. Sold to us as a v8 as we requested salesman read it off the sticker as being a v8. Took the truck home and showed it to a friend the next day and he informed us that it was a v6 not a v8 as described to us. Returned to the dealership the next day and ask the salesman was this truck a v8 or v6 he assured us that it was a v8 we told him what our friend said so he raised the hood and checked the motor and he was surprised to find out that it was a v6. He said you are right (Florida has a no cooling off period so we were stuck with a v6 truck, we then took it to the manager and he read the window sticker off the truck and told us that it was v8. We told him he was wrong he also was surprised to find out but offered no exchange on the truck now this truck was only 2 days old.

Also purchased rap insurance and credit life and disability insurance as suggested by dealership rep. To the tune of $3,453.04. Then in August 9, 2007 we went to the dealership and cancelled the insurance for a refund didn't think much of it until in October we noticed the money was never refunded back to the lender to reduce the amount we owed. We then called the dealership and asked about it they informed us they had misplaced the papers,so we had made 4 months worth of an inflated balance on that amount due to them not cancelling the insurance. Finally they sent a refund check dated on oct.30, 2007 To the lender to reduced the amount of loan but in the mean time we have paid 4 payments of inflated interest on the amount of extra money,so to date they have refused to comply with our request to pay us back our interest on that 4 months of an inflated total that should have been cancelled previous.

The owner has refused any and all meeting that we have requested to correct this problem. So people never trust things are done keep checking to make sure.

I am pretty sure no state has a 'cooling off period' when you purchase a product directly from a vendor. The 3-day recission deals with door-to-door-sales. I just curious why you would buy something as expensive as a new vehicle and not even look at the sticker?

Let me add... if the sticker said V8 you might have a possible case if it is only a V6. If you are up for a fight go see a lawyer. They have charged you for a V8 and you didn't get what you paid for.

Foggy you ask about the us reading the sticker, we did thats why we bought this truck, it reads V8 but the kicker to the new redesigned stickers is at the very bottom after you read your options it then reads a different Liter #.I wish they would do away with liters, Like I know which liter goes to which type.I know our mistake for trusting the salesman. And for Geather you are right we have contacted the BBB and they have opened a case for us but you know what the dealership to this date still has not responded,Personally this is going to wind up in the hands of an Attorney before its through, If these people don't own up to their mistake. We have all the Documents. We tried to settle this with the owner but to this day has refused to talk to us.
