Bank Of Colorado Complaint - Bank Deposits - Banking

Review by BANKRATER on 2007-11-24
FORT COLLINS, COLORADO -- Bank of Colorado in Fort Collins is not an honest bank. While banking rules requires deposits in excess of $5000.00 be subject to certain holds it
does not specify the length of said HOLDS. Bank of Colorado places 26 day holds on such deposits even if the funds are ACH transactions. ACH transactions were designed for rapid clearance but BOC opts to hold these funds for an unreasonable period of time.

ALSO, even though bank deposits at BOC is owned by the depositor BOC dictates (like a dictator) who can have access to your funds. As if those funds were not owned by the depositor, but by the bank.

I shall never do business with a BOC bank if I live to be a thousand years old. BOC is the worst bank in Colorado and as an 80 year old depositor I have been a customer of about every bank in Fort Collins Colorado.

Just a friendly warning... STAY AWAY FROM BOC!!

Move your money elsewhere. 26 days for a hold is way too long for any deposit to clear.

Actually the law does dicate the length of extended holds. If there was a 26 day hold (which is dubious) it is likely because the item did not clear on first pass, and that the depositor has a shady record. The law is very specific about when a hold can be extended, and for what reasons. The bank's independent auditors would be quick to jump all over them if they were not within the law.
