Vonage Complaint - Terrible Customer Service.
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- On November 9th 2007 I spoke with Vonage to transfer my phone number to their service. What a big mistake. On November 19th my local phone company who also provides my DSL turned my service off. Vonage assured me that there would be no interruption in service. (NOT) I spent 2 hours on my cellular talking to someone in India (whom I could not understand and had to keep asking them to repeat every thing) to get my service connected. Finally I told him I could no longer stay on the phone. He said he would call his Senior Tech to help me. Well, no one came to the phone after 10 minutes. I hung up and called back and got someone who said Vonage could not hook up to a DSL line that is connected to the phone number. He said I should call my phone company and ask them for a dry circulation. (whatever that is) I called the phone company and they did not know what he was talking about. I then reinstated my local phone company since I work from home and had already missed a days work without the phone and internet.
When I called to cancel Vonage I was given the run around and finally I got a RA number and address to return their device which they charged me $39.95 until they receive the device.
I returned the device on Nov. 20th 2007 and today I get an email from them telling me that they have not received it yet. We had a holiday in Thursday and they should know it will take longer than a week to get there. Plus, they wanted me to print out the email that they sent me when I had no internet and put it in the box with the return of the device. Now, I would like to know how I can do that if I don't have internet access.
My advice to anyone with DSL, do not sign up for Vonage. I am expecting to get my money back. (86.01 plus 39.95) if not will call my credit card company and advice them of the situation.
