Browning Chevrolet Compliment - Truck Repair

Review by Principissa on 2007-11-27
MADISONVILLE, KENTUCKY -- About 7 weeks ago the instrument cluster in my husband's truck stopped working. We called the service center at Browning and were quoted a price of 575.00 for parts and 250.00 for labor. After removing our hearts from our stomachs we went online and did some research and found that they were issuing a special repair on his particular make and model of truck because of the instrument cluster prematurely failing.

We called GM and spoke with a wonderful woman who issued a case number and did a three way call with Browning to schedule repairs.

We took the truck in the next day to get inspected and they said that the part we needed was on back order for two weeks, but they would call us as soon as they get it in.

We got the phone call today at 3:15 P.M. that the part had just arrived at the service center and they wanted to know if we could bring it in to be repaired by 3:30.

We dropped the truck off and the service manager came out and told us that it would be ready for us tomorrow morning by 10:00.

Much to our surprise we get a phone call at 4:30 telling us the truck was ready to be picked up.

When we got there the truck was repaired and they allowed my husband to take it for a test drive to make sure he was satisfied with the work done.

We got another surprise when they gave us free oil changes for a year because of the long delay for the part.

Normally I would not recommend a car dealership to anyone, but this has been bar none some of the best service we have ever received from a service center.

Nice review. Compliments are pretty rare around here, and I love reading them.

Great post! Car dealerships and auto repair shops get a bad rap because of the business they are in, but every once in a while you run into a good one. I drive an older car and have been taking it to the same Goodyear shop for the past 6 years. They never try to sell me stuff I don't need and are very fair with their prices. Case in point: I've been trying to buy a new clutch for the past 4 years and have been told that I can take preventative maintenance too far!

Suusan I drive a 2000 Cavalier and she runs like she's brand new. I am a nut when it comes to my car.

Nothing like protecting your investment..I treat my 2001 KIA like it was a rolls royce and it runs perfectly

Principissa, good post, thanks.

Suusan, which Goodyear? I used to go to a Good Year over your way until they opened one in the Tustin Marketplace. If were talking about the same one I found them to be very good to deal with also. The Tustin one is good but there wait times are way to long.

You forgot to mention, you had to sleep with the mechanic too..Oh..that was our secret..sorry!
Good for them, they deserve some recognition for good customer care!

Dangit DB! You have uncovered my schill review!

Yea well the poor service manager was a wreck. When we went to pick up the truck some yahoo was screaming at this poor guy because it was going to take them 20 minutes longer to finish his vehicle.

Maybe he should have slept with him too.

LOL! And I only settled for the oil changes. Dangit I wanted that Equinox. Time for the sales person.
