Lake Norman Toyota Complaint - Deceptive And Does Not Deserve Your Business

Review by BermudaAF7 on 2007-11-30
NORTH CAROLINA -- This is by far the most deceitful dealership I've ever been to. These guys are the epitome of the used carsalesman stereotype. They lured myself and my brother over two hours from home to their dealership at Lake Norman Toyota with promises of the best priced Tacomas. After a 150 mile journey to their dealership we were met with nothing but incompetence and arrogance. My brother had a check for the price in full of their advertised vehicle. He even called first and double checked with their sales person to ensure they had the right vehicle. Once there, the price of vehicle not only went up, it was changed five different times depending on who we talked to, always increasing of course. After their $600 dealer fee and other outrageous add ons they were asking $25,100 for a vehicle that was sticker-priced at $23,700.

Most dealerships come DOWN from stick-price, not GO UP. Needless to say we will NEVER consider this dealership in the future. After 2 hours of being jerked around and lied to by Lake Norman Toyota's sales staff we walked out the door and will be buying my brother's Tacoma elsewhere. I would suggest not even consider buying here or if you do make sure you get the price in writing. If you want to know the true price of any vehicle at Lake Norman Toyota, add about 10% on top of whatever they quote you.

Considering the price of gas they must have offered you a fantastic deal to get you to drive 150 miles. But then again car salespeople will say anything to get customer in the door.

Good for you! There's no reason to cave to a salesperson's pressure and pricing tactics! What you spent in gas and time you'll easily make up in a new deal with no regrets about what you'd have spent!

I applaud you for walking out the door. Bravo!
