Mimi's Cafe Compliment - Excellent Food and Service - Great Restaurant

Great Restaurant - Compliment
Review by Starlord on 2007-11-30
CASA GRANDE, ARIZONA -- We just ate breakfast this morning at a new restaurant in Casa Grande, AZ, called Mimi's Cafe. It is part of the new Promenade at Casa Grande Shopping Center at Arizona 287 and Interstate 10. One is taken immediately by the decor, from the black and red booth seats to the posters for French restaurants on the walls. The wait staff are pleasant and attentive, and the food is so good, as we used to say back home, if you hold it over your head, your tongue will slap your brain silly, trying to get to it.
At first blush, I thought it was a bit high priced, with a two egg breakfast for $6.99. Then, when the food started arriving, I had to revise my thinking. One receives a huge, fresh-baked muffin (mine was blueberry)and a glass of juice that would have cost $2.00 at Denny's. The main plate arrived with my two AA large eggs prepared to order, a healthy helping of cubed red skin potatoes, and four strips of smoked bacon. The coffee was $1.99, as was my wife's tea, but it was well worth it. Neither of us was able to completely finish our meal, and were pleasantly stuffed. The only addition we could see to the plate would be to add a bit of onion to the potatoes. Our waiter, Luis saw to our every wish in a very professional and friendly manner. If you ever drive through Arizona on Interstate 10, hop off at Exit 194, turn right if westbound, left if eastbound, go about three blocks and you can't miss it. I give Mimi's Cafe five forks.

I live in Southern California and we have Mimi's around here - - in fact I live about a mile from one. It's a good place to eat when you're looking for moderately priced comfort food. They serve generous portions and their quality/service seems to be consistently good.

We don't have any of them around here, but it sounds like a nice place to eat.

Not much, had to see a client all day. We are getting our first major rain in 18 months today. So as you know the freeways are a nightmare and the hillsides that burned last month are now mud flows. Supposed to be back in the 70's and clear by Sunday.

Super: I go to the same one frequently but mostly on Saturdays before hitting the Orange County Swap Meet. Maybe my girlfriend and I will change to Sunday someday and have the hostess see if Superbowl is in the house!

Send me an email if you ever do Sunday and maybe we can say hi. Were there about 10:30 - 11:00.

Want a better breakfast? Come to the Officer's Club at MacDill AFB. For $5.00 you get 3 eggs any style, 4 strips of bacon or 4 sausage patties, as much toast or English muffins you want, hash browns, and all the coffee or OJ you can handle.

I thought OJ was in court!

I LOVE Mimi's! We always stop there on our way home from Comic-Con when we are so dead tired from walking for 4 days.
The basket of bread is the best!
