TigerGPS.com Complaint - Horrible Customer Service! Product Not Delivered!
I just wanted to let everyone know about the horrible customer service I experienced with TigerGPS.com. I was looking to purchase a GPS unit and found the one I wanted on their site at a good price. I checked the reviews from Bizrate and Yahoo shopping and saw they had good reviews, so I placed my order on Sun Nov 25th. Their site claims same day shipping by 3pm for in stock items, which my GPS clearly stated "in stock" on the site. The site also claimed they wouldn't charge your card until the unti shipped.
On Tues the 26th I check the account status and it still hadn't shipped but my card had been charged so I contacted them via their live chat support. At this point I checked the site and it still said the item was "in stock". The CS rep told me they were out of stock and I stated if they couldn't get me the unit by the following week I would like to just cancel. He guaranteed me it would ship on Weds, no later. Well, Weds. came and went and it still hadn't shipped.
I contacted them again Thurs and was told it would ship on on Fri. and they would upgrade my shipping to 2 day from standard ground. The weekend came and went and when I checked my account status it still showed it as not shipping. I sent an email on Mon and got no response so Tues (Dec 4th now, they charged my card on Sun Nov 25th) I contact them again via chat and get a generic response of thanks for your order it "should" be shipping sometime in the next few days. I told them this was unecceptable as I had been lied to about it shipping the next day every time I contacted them.
When I asked why my card was charged when the item hadn't shipped the CS rep stated it was because they had anticipated it shipping but hadn't yet. He then said I'll cancel your order for you, if you have any further complaints you can address them to me, the customer service mangager. I then tried to continue the chat to tell him how dissatisfied I was with their lies and response and he immediately ended the chat session. I logged back on and waited and got the same screen name for the operator "Micheal", before I could even finish my question he ended the session again.
I eneded up having to call the 866 number to get someone to verify the order really was cancelled because they wouldn't respond to my chat anymore. They claim they cancelled the order, I'll have to wait and see if it's true or not. Apparently, quite a few people are having similar issues with this retailer now because Bizrate is now showing a lot of complaints similar in nature.
I went ahead and ordered my GPS from Amazon which had it in stock and will be shipping it out tomorrow. I wish I would have done that in the first place, the hassle wasn't worth the $15 I would have saved with TigerGPS, if anyone is in the market for a GPS, avoid TigerGPS.com at all costs if you need your unit in a timely manner and do not beileve their CS reps.
